The organization was formed by traders more than 25 years ago to help promote trade and solve problems when they arise. 15 years ago the Chamber formed a partnership with Pershore Town Council and called it Pershore Tourism Association, this has now become a Town Council committee and its remit is to promote not just Pershore but the delightsof the area and adjacent villages, giving help and advice regarding events, accommodation, transport and facilities; this was created to again help promote not just Pershore's traders. The Chamber meets several times a year and at its AGM elects the usual officers and committee, although any member is free to attend any meeting. At these meetings anyone is free to raise a subject for discussion under Any Other Business, although an agenda is always produced prior to the meeting and distributed with the Newsletter to all paid up members. Regular consultations are held with the local authorities, planning applications are received weekly so that nothing slips past our eagle eyes, and members are consulted whenever anything is organised in Pershore such as Farmers Markets, Carnival, Plum Fayre, Brass Band and Jazz Festivals together with the Christmas Fair.
